HEAD Penn’s Paola Longoria Wins Mexican National Selecion Tournament & Finishes #1 Year End for the 9th Time after Winning in KS

San Luis Potosi, Mexico – June 3, 2018

HEAD Penn’s Paola Longoria, the No. 1 ranked player in the world, won the “Campeonato Nacional Selectivo De Primera Fuerza” event to earn yet another appearance on Mexico’s National Team. Being there to coach Paola and witness her dominating performance was wonderful. Longoria won the Women’s Singles divisions at the event and has earned the right to play at the 2018 International Racquetball Federation’s (IRF) World Championships later this summer.

Paola did not lose a single game at the National Selection event and allowed her opponents to score less than 10 points per match. On the international stage, Longoria has won 38 medals playing for Team Mexico. Of those medals, 32 have been gold. She has won three World Singles Championships and three World Doubles Championships.

Overland Park, Kansas – June 10, 2018

For the seventh consecutive season and ninth overall, HEAD Penn’s Paola Longoria finished atop the season ending Professional Singles rankings on the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT). I couldn’t be happier as I have been coaching Paola since 2009.

The season ended at the TeamRoot.com Classic event in suburban Kansas City, where Longoria won her seventh tournament of the season. For the 2017-18 LPRT Season, Paola won seven of the eight tournaments she played in.

In her professional career, Longoria has won 402 matches to just 30 losses, an overall winner percentage of more than 90 percent! Paola also finished the 2017-18 season as the top ranked Professional Doubles player.

The LPRT will take the summer off, however Paola will represent her native country of Mexico at the 2018 Central American Games in July and the International Racquetball Federation’s (IRF) World Championships in August and I will be coaching Paola at both events.  On the international stage, Longoria has won 38 medals playing for Team Mexico. Of those medals, 32 have been gold. She has won three World Singles Championships and three World Doubles Championships.
