I just finished a wonderful training camp with my Junior Championship Team in Salem and Mt. Hood, OR during the Christmas to New Years break, as there was NO school. Jordan Cooperrider flew from Tampa, FL to Seattle, WA on Christmas Night to begin a week long training camp with me. We wanted to make her feel at home so we started the night with “stocking stuffers” and a movie….oh what fun.

We stayed in Seattle for a couple of days to train and spar with Devon Pimentelli (Collegiate National Champion), who now is going to school in Seattle, WA….what a treat that was.

On Sunday, December 27th, we headed south to meet up with Wayne Antone and Mitchell Turner in Salem, OR to train for a few more days. The Turners were nice enough to put us up in their house in Salem and then in one of their cabins in Mt. Hood over New Years, so we could ski and snowboard.

It was great as Courthouse South allowed us to train there for 3 days and Charlie Pratt and Arash came and worked out with the kids.

We covered everything from footwork drills, to tweaking technical things, to playing and working on the strategic part of the game, to video analysis during the day at the courts and at home at night, and let’s not forget mental toughness (journaling, reading books and discussing concepts, and looking at motivational quotes)…. ALL of this is on the road to The Junior National Championships, at the end of February.

Once the training was complete we all caravanned up to Mt. Hood to stay in a cabin hosted by the Turners. We had 3 days of R & R and went skiing, snowboarding or snowshoeing by day and played pickleball and card/board games by night after cooking a home cooked meal.

One of the KEYS to my SUCCESSES is I don’t just coach, I build relationships not only with Jordan, Wayne and Mitch and their families, but also with Paola and Rocky and their families.

Getting to know my athletes inside and out builds trust and respect and they know I GENUINELY CARE and GIVE my heart and soul to them on and off the court. The LEVEL OF CONFIDENCE created is unmeasurable.

All I can say, is their careers speak for themselves and they are all “True Champions” in their own right.

I am PROUD to be a part of their journeys to “Be the BEST they CAN BE.”
