April Foolish Update 2013

Paola & Rocky shine in the Pros while, Taylor, Lexi & Jordan
shine in the amateurs!!!!

What can I say? This has been a VERY busy month for me coaching as ALL of my athletes on my “Championship Racquetball Team” shined:

Rocky Carson makes 2 semi-finals in a row in his IRT Pro Stops.

Paola Longoria is 2 for 2 in her 2 LPRT Pro Stops 1st place victories.

Taylor Knoth won the 2013 Northwest Regional Championships in the Men’s Open Division.

Lexi York won the 2013 Northwest Regional Championships in the Women’s Open Division.

Jordan Cooperider won the 2013 Southeast Regional Championships in the Women’s Open Division

Rocky had 2 events in April.  April 12-14 he was in St. Louis, MO and lost to Alvaro in the semi-finals in 4 games, 10-12 in the 4th. Two weeks later, April 28-30, he was in Portland, OR where he lost to Ben in the semi-finals in 3 games. Quite a rough month for Rocky as he is, once again, fighting a sinus infection. He plans on resting the next few days then hit the courts hard getting ready for The NATIONALS, May 15-19, in Fullerton, CA as he is in position to finish the 2012/2013 season #1.

Paola played in 2 tournaments in April as well. Her tournaments were the same weekends as Rocky’s, but in different cities.  April 12-14 she played in Reseda, CA where she played Samantha Salas in the finals after Samantha beat Rhonda in the semi-finals and beat Samantha. Two weeks later. April 28-30, Paola was in San Antonio, TX where she played Rhonda in the finals and beat her as well.

Paola brought here 72 consecutive match winning streak to Texas and extended it without dropping a single game. Her dominance is just getting stronger and stronger as she is now preparing for The NATIONALS, in Fullerton, CA, May 15-19.

Taylor (22 years old) and Lexi (16 years old) each won their respective divisions, Men’s and Women’s Open, at the Northwest Regional Championships in Gresham, OR April 12-14. They both dominated their divisions as they marched through their draws unscathed. Both of them will be heading down to Fullerton, CA to play in The NATIONALS, May 15-19. Taylor will be playing in the IRT Pro and US Team Qualifier and Lexi will be playing in the Women’s Elite & Open Divisions.

Jordan followed up her Women’s Open win at the Florida State Championships with yet another big win at the Southeast Regionals in the Women’s Open Division. At the ripe age of 14 years she is doing what no other female players have yet to do in the State of Florida.

These tournaments are getting her ready for The Junior National Championships to be held in Des Moines, Iowa, June 25-29, where she will compete in the Girl’s 14 & Under Singles and Doubles Divisions.
